A travel inspired centrepiece for a beautiful couple wedding. The couple loves traveling to new place and they love adventure, we tried to incorporate their love for travel in this centrepiece. Hope we have captured the essence of it.
The elements in this project symbolises the adventure and travel, hot air balloon symbolises traveling to new places, while a life jacket and beach chair for adventurous mind (Scuba & Snorkel), snow laden mountain for romantic getaway. Of course to capture all this lovely moment one need a camera, and suitcase for traveling !!!!
Travel theme inspired Wedding Decor
The base is a wooden board and I added a layer of styrofoam on top. I applied a layer of modeling paste on the styrofoam so that we can get rid of the styrofoam texture. I used paints to paint the texture, The waves were made using white paint and heavy gesso mixture which gave a nice wave effect. For sand, yellow ochre and white paint were used and real sand were added on top of the paint coat. The mountains were made using paper mache and coloured using acrylic paint. The snow is again gesso and white paint. The life jacket were made from old swimming cap and the slippers from felt cloth.
I also added few shells which my daughter collected from the beach. The suitcase and hot air balloon were made using scrapbook paper. I stuck the sentiment between the sand and greenery and it kind of gave a merged feeling to the centrepiece.
I planned to add few trekkers on the mountain but it didn’t look good so left out the idea. I hope you like the craft creation.
I saw the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge and I couldn’t believe in my eyes, it exactly matched the theme of my project, so here we go, I am enrolling my project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge – “Take Flight”
