Oh My God, I found an old magazine cover from 1984 edition of Ambulimama (Chandamama), I loved reading them when I was a kid, it immediately brought me lots of childhood memories 😍.The cover had a vintage style of painting of Lord Ram and Sita from Indian epic Ramayana, this scene is where Sita sees a Golden deer and asks Rama to get the deer for her. But, it was one of the evil asura from Raavana’s army. Sita was abducted by Raavana when Rama goes away to catch the golden deer.
I used water colour paper to draw the golden deer, I did fuzzy cut and used watercolour pencils to colour the deer. I tore the cardstock to give the old look, I applied heavy gesso on the white board and applied metallic colours. I used gold gel pen to colour the deer and added glossy accents to give the golden deer a 3d effect. I applied a little drop for the eyes. I glied everything with soft matte gel. I added few flowers to the corner of my project.
