My daughter made this Shoebox Diorama as part of her Language arts assignment. The project was to make a diorama based on a scene she liked in the book “The Great Cake Mystery” by Alexander McCall Smith.
She altered a shoebox and painted inside green as she wanted to set a scene which happens in the forest. For the mountains, she cut a brown foam sheet as mountain and pasted in back of the box.
Of course, The Great Cake Mystery needs a cake, she remembered Mister Maker made a slice of cake using a sponge and she applied the same technique to make her two-tier cake. The icing was a mixture of white glue and white paint and toppings were colorful beads.
She arranged few trees, plants, and animals to complete the scene, she used her rainbow loom bracelet as a branch and hanged a monkey from it.
The completed diorama of her Great Cake Mystery.
