Beach birthday party gift
My daughter is invited for a birthday party and the party theme is beach. We decided that we will gift the birthday girl which will reflect the theme.
Of course, a Mixed media project is what I immediately thought, I had a new pencil holder and I knew I can change it to a ocean themed pencil holder. A perfect gift for the theme.
- Soft Matte Gel
- Heavy Gesso
- Tim Holtz stencil
Shell, Stars, acylic paints
I applied Gesso for the pencil holder, and used stencil to create some texture. The boat was made using cardboard, bamboo skewer and for sail I used a white lace cloth. I tied the sail and added some bunting to the boat.
I used a sponge to mix sky blue and white acrylic paint and painted the pencil holder to give a ocean effect.
One side of the pencil holder, I added few shells, the boat and a star. The shells were mixed with gel, paint and applied on the holder. I added a star as an embellishment. I wanted my border to look more attractive, the boat and shells shows a proper border to the holder.
Another side, I added a motivational quote as sentiment “Dream higher than the Sky & Deeper than the OCEAN”.
On the third side, I haved used stencil to create a texture, I mixed orange and yellow acylic paint and painted a fish using the sponge.
On the fourth side, I used the texture to created a sting ray.
